What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business
  • Ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities; meet potential clients by growing, maintaining and leveraging your network
  • Identify potential clients and the decision-makers within the client organization
  • Research and build relationships with new clients
  • Set up meetings with client decision-makers
  • Plan approaches and pitches; work with the team to develop proposals that speak to the client’s needs, concerns and objectives
  • Participate in pricing the solution/service
  • Handle objections by clarifying questions, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion
  • Develop talent, ensure training plans, and promote a culture of safety and high performance.
  • Manage internal communication between branches and foster cross-functional coordination.

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • University degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field
  • 5 years of experience in sales and team management
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Intermediate-advanced level of English
  • Inspirational leadership and ability to manage large and diverse teams.
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Availability to travel frequently within the region.

It’d be great if you also have:

  • Experience in business development or related areas
  • Demonstrated results in meeting sales targets
  • Advanced knowledge of the sales process, including the ability to understand and interpret customer needs using fact-finding to identify sales opportunities
  • A high level of passion to succeed and strong self-motivation
  • The ability to work effectively as a team player with a strong work ethic
  • A keen interest in the transportation industry
