We’re currently recruiting for a Transport Supervisor to be based at our site in Ashington.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £35,875 per annum. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Responsibility for the management of outbound radial deliveries to customer sites and production loads to the customers centrally based warehouse.
  • Achieve KPIs relating to QHSE, Radial OTIF & production load lead time.
  • Provide leadership and direction to a team of radial and artic drivers.
  • Monitor and develop driver training schedules.
  • Proactively plan and engage with other departments to ensure a collaborative approach and effective resolution of issues.
  • Be the point of escalation for the Customer on site at Ashington.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Create and drive a culture of continuous improvement and lead process improvement activities
  • Control and manage driver resource to maximise service and efficiencies.
  • Effectively manage the TMS for your depot to generate accurate information for internal and external parties.
  • Responsible for all Health, Safety, Security and Environmental procedures, ensuring that they are followed at all times challenging non conformance.
  • Engage with central functions to ensure vehicle compliance is always adhered to.

 

What you need to succeed at XPO:

 

  • It’s important you have exposure of working in a fast-paced environment – no two days will be the same and we need you to think on your feet
  • Previous experience supervising and developing a team within a complex transport environment
  • Proven experience within transport and a good understanding of compliance and driver hours
  • Computer literate as will be answering email, dispatching drivers, and compiling handovers.
  • Team building experience.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, time critical environment.
  • Some transport experience dealing with C+E drivers would be beneficial.
