Transport Planner

Here at XPO, we take our people seriously. We’re looking for a talented Transport Planner to join us on a full-time, permanent basis on our Aylesbury site for Arla. Working a typical Monday to Friday, core working hours, you’ll support the planning activities, allocation of routes, and cos-effective sub-contracting for the site, ensuring our deliveries get out the door in a timely, safe and compliant manner.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £30,000. We offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. You’ll have access to a variety of high street discounts, cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension and many other perks.
What you’ll do on a typical day:

Control outbound plan, ensuring all drivers are scheduled in order to achieve
contractual delivery times.
· level of accuracy and professionalism
· To achieve weekly and monthly KPIs as set by the business and / or Customer Service
· Ensures that appropriate communication methods are used to provide information to
drivers and office staff in relation to plan
· To identify and highlight to management any potential improvement opportunities
· To demonstrate the Company Values in the undertaking of their role, and always
display the highest standards of customer service
· To undertake any other reasonable task as required.
· To undertake any relevant training events in line with own personal development
needs and business requirements
· General admin duties in line with transport legislation, company policies and
procedures including WTD, Tacho master updates
· To ensure all drivers are within legal parameters and follow tachograph laws
· Dealing with permanent and agency drivers planning
· Problem solving with any issues or queries regarding the plan and/or with the drivers
· A strong attention to detail
· Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
· Competent decision making
· Manage ASH on a daily basis – using WTD calander and Absence tracker
· Monitor Agency PVA
· Create and manage trend reports
What you need to succeed at XPO:
- A good understating of fast-paced transport teams
- Excellent communication skills – you’ll be speaking regularly with various stakeholders
- Good understanding of Microsoft packages including Excel and Outlook
