We’re looking for a Transport Coordinator to support on a 6 month fixed term contract covering maternity leave at our site in Mold. Your role will be to co-ordinate the transport operations of the depot in order to achieve business objectives and the needs of the customer. Working Monday to Friday core hours (with some flexibility – this is logistics after all).

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £27,750 per annum. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

You will dispatch routes to achieve contractual delivery times, conducting remedial planning to effectively manage live changes to the plan.
Ensure all administrative traffic duties are carried out as necessary and to a high level of accuracy and professionalism
To ensure that details of vehicle accidents are escalated to line management
To ensure that defected vehicles are recorded on traffic sheets
To ensure that the procedure for damaged deliveries is followed where necessary
To use all IT based systems in the effective delivery of their role including YMS, Sphere & WTS
Ensures that appropriate communication methods are used to provide information to both internal and external customers as required e.g. debrief of drivers, dealing with customer issues etc.
To ensure that all traffic planning activity is undertaken in line with legislative requirements
To ensure compliance with Company Health & Safety requirements highlighting any concerns to line management
Conduct relevant QHSE activities: Care Cards, Bsafe, Safety Conversations etc
To identify and highlight to management any potential improvement opportunities
Manage all third-party contractors whilst on site including subcontractors, agency, and maintenance providers
Carry out resource planning for agency drivers
End of day checks, making sure all keys are securely stored
Entering timesheet data onto the Payroll spreadsheet
 

What you need to succeed at XPO:

 

Previous experience within a transport / logistics organisation
Experience of managing conflicting priorities in a fast-moving environment
Ability to work under pressure and react quickly to customer requirements
Effective Customer Service Skills
Ability to take a creative approach to problem solving.
Good geographical knowledge of the UK
Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements
Operational understanding of team roles
