Accounts Assistant – Expenses and Recharges
We’re looking for a talented AAT Studier to join us on a full-time, permanent basis. You would be based at our site in Northampton. The role would be Monday to Friday.

This role has the potential for steady expansion and career development. We’re looking for someone who has level 2 AAT or higher and we will support you through your AAT, ACCA or CIMA qualification. We’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us.
We’re offering a starting salary of between £25-£28k, depending on experience with salary increasing upon completion of further AAT/ACCA/CIMA levels. What you’ll do on a typical day:
• Employee expenses processing for our UK and Ireland entities
• Review all employee expense claims ensuring they are legally compliant
• Check VAT receipts and amend and approve claims accordingly
• Liaise with colleagues with any questions regarding their expense claims to resolve queries
• Be responsible for managing and producing expenses payment runs on a weekly basis
• Approve consolidated invoices for processing
• Prepare and journal consolidated invoice recharges using supplier back-up, posting to our UK and Ireland entities. Weekly and monthly recharges that are large in volume and value
• Post various other recharges on a weekly and monthly basis
• Create monthly balance sheet reconciliations across various entities
• Experience and knowledge will be gained through the use of a number of different IT systems
What you need to succeed at XPO:
• Completed AAT Level 2 or higher
• Excellent communication skills – you’ll be speaking regularly with various stakeholders, so you’ll need to be able to communicate with colleagues at all levels over the phone/email or in person
• A sound understanding of Microsoft packages including Excel and Outlook
• Have the confidence to query expense claims with employees at all levels
• Be eager to learn and be willing take on more responsibility as you progress within your role and within the team
• Work to weekly and monthly deadlines
• Have great attention to detail
