The company operates across multiple business lines, including Full Truckload (FTL), Less-than-Truckload (LTL), Last Mile, Contract Logistics, 4PL, and Global Forwarding.

This role supports the launch of Global Forwarding operations in Poland.

Role Purpose

Launch and develop XPO’s Global Forwarding operations in Poland, building a strong operational foundation and supporting the long-term growth of the activity within the European network.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management (Primary Focus)

  • Manage end-to-end freight forwarding operations (air & ocean)
  • Coordinate shipments with international agent network and internal teams
  • Manage local subcontractors (carriers, brokers, handling agents)
  • Ensure compliance with Polish regulations (customs, transport, documentation)
  • Deploy and adapt existing processes, systems, and operational standards
  • Monitor pricing, profitability, and service quality

Business Development Support

  • Support the development of the activity starting from a key anchor client
  • Collaborate with internal commercial teams to identify new opportunities
  • Provide local market insights (pricing, competition, subcontractors)
  • Participate in client discussions and solution design

Team & Activity Development

  • Supervise and support the initial team member
  • Contribute to future hiring and team structuring
  • Ensure operational consistency and efficiency

Internal & Network Coordination

  • Collaborate with Global Forwarding teams across Europe
  • Work with internal functions (sales, IT, finance, operations)
  • Ensure alignment with the broader European network

Candidate Profile

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years in freight forwarding
  • Strong background in end-to-end operations (air & ocean)
  • International exposure preferred

Expertise

  • Solid expertise in air and ocean freight
  • Strong knowledge of Polish subcontractors and partners
  • Good understanding of customs and regulatory requirements

Market Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of the Polish freight forwarding market
  • Ability to operate effectively within local constraints

Languages

  • Fluent Polish and English (mandatory)
