We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Transport Operations Manager to join our Tesco Widnes operation. You will be working Sunday to Thursday, 23:00-07:00, you'll be responsible for leading the night transport operation, supporting and developing colleagues, maintaining compliance standards, and ensuring excellent service delivery for our customer.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £45,000. In addition, we offer 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays with an option to buy an extra 5 days yearly. You’ll have access to a variety of high street discounts, as well as a cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension and many other perks. 

What you’ll do on a typical day:

· You will be the most senior point of contact throughout the night and will have management of 14 office colleagues and 210 volume colleagues (excluding agency) plus subcontractors

· Manage the overall operation of the depot on a night-to-night basis ensuring that agreed targets are achieved in line with business and customer requirements.

· Monitor planning and dispatch performance and make decisions to protect Customer Service

· Ensure the Site is legally compliant by ensuring correct processes are in place, have an owner and are monitored.

· Ensure reporting deadlines are met for both Financial and Compliance requirements.

· Proactively promote a health & safety culture

· Support & encourage a good team working spirit and ensure that the transport team work effectively with the Planning team and communicate frequently to achieve the business objectives

· Follow all HR requirements in relation to disciplinary, absence management and return to work situations

· Maximise the potential of new employees by ensuring their operational and psychological engagement and their continual development within the business.

· Ensure appropriate understanding to enable individuals to meet their role requirements and to create involvement and engagement through two-way communication mechanisms.
